Job Description:

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Senior Technology Strategist to oversee the implementation of the Cityworks Asset Management System. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with City division (IT, GIS, Finance, Public Works Budget, City Manager's Office and others to provide coordination, direction and management of staff and vendors in establishing and implementing EAMS technology using Cityworks and ESRI GIS platforms. The ideal candidate, through exceptional communication, technology expertise, and organizational skills, will provide leadership and training to ensure that all staff engaged in the EAMS implementation, understand their role, the system's importance, and its value in supporting the Asset Management (AM) policy and AM strategic plan for the sustainable and resilient management of the City of Fort Lauderdale's public infrastructure. Leads planning and implementation and introduction of projects for new systems and technologies Identifies information system problems, develops solutions and recommendations, and develops cost-benefit analyses and cost-benefit statements; makes recommendations for improvements in asset management methodologies, procedures, and policies. Develops cost-benefit analyses and cost-benefit statements; makes recommendations for improvements in information systems methodologies and procedures Coordinates with outside vendors and City customer department personnel to ensure new information technology projects are completed in accordance with agreed upon schedule and standards Determines reason and severity of problems with new systems and corrects through system or workflow change Plans, manages, prioritizes and implements the EAMS; develops Requests For Proposals (RFPs) to include project timeline and milestones, tasks, scope of work documents, payment schedules and acceptance testing; supervises and evaluates the work of technology strategists for assigned projects; coordinates initial EAMS documentation and training. Performs analysis and recommends purchases of new computers, peripherals software packages and systems; secures pricing and delivery from vendors via telephone bids and Internet research Analyzes vendor proposals via demonstrations, reference checks, site visits, etc. to determine best-suited technology Develops deployment schedules and task identification of City-wide and department-wide technology initiatives Works effectively with City divisions (IT, GIS, Finance, Public Works, Budget, City Manager Office (CMO), and others) to provide coordination, direction and management of staff and vendors in establishing and implementing EAMS technology using the Cityworks and ESRI GIS platform. Keeps abreast of new technology in the information systems field by reading industry publications, attending seminars, Internet sources, and by meeting with other information systems personnel both within the City and with outside organizations. Provides after hours support as needed Performs related work as required THE REQUIREMENTS: Have successfully graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information processing, or a closely related field. Must possess at least four (4) years of experience planning, organizing and implementing geographic information systems technology, including some supervisory experience. (An appropriate master's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the experience requirement) Must possess at least three (3) years of experience with Cityworks Asset Management Software. Must possess or be able to obtain a State of Florida driver's license. Specific Requirements: Must possess experience with the implementation of Cityworks Asset Management Software. Preference: Preference to candidates who possess AM certification(s) from the Institute of Asset management (IAM), Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IEPWEA), or other.
