Job Description Job Description Are you a construction accounting pro who knows certified payroll, Florida lien laws, and Procore—and actually enjoys being the go-to person on a project team? We’re partnered with a well-respected commercial General Contractor in Deerfield Beach that’s looking for a Senior Project Accountant to own the financial and compliance side of their construction projects from start to finish. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who understands cost-plus and GMP jobs, stays calm under deadlines, and knows how to keep projects compliant, accurate, and audit-ready. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, subcontractors, and accounting leadership to ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly—from billing and job costing to certified payroll and close-out. What You’ll Be Doing Lead project setup and ensure all contracts, vendor/sub agreements, and Notices of Commencement are properly executed Prepare and manage Cost-Plus and GMP billings, including supporting documentation Oversee job costing, budget tracking, cost-to-complete, and variance reporting Manage subcontractor and vendor compliance, including lien waivers, bonds, insurance, and close-out documents Enforce Certified Payroll, Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage, and Section 3 compliance where applicable Maintain organized, audit-ready project and compliance records Support internal and external audits and owner reporting Act as a key liaison between Project Management and Accounting Mentor project administrators and support teams on best practices and procedures Required Skills & Qualifications (for Indeed) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field 5–10 years of experience in construction accounting or project accounting, preferably with a commercial GC Strong experience with Cost-Plus and GMP contracts Hands-on experience with Certified Payroll, Davis-Bacon, and prevailing wage projects Working knowledge of Florida lien laws and construction risk documentation Procore experience required Proficiency with Sage 300 and Microsoft Excel Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple active projects Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with PMs, executives, and subcontractors Bilingual Spanish is a plus, not required Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023 -06/22- 088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdf The pay transparency policy is available here: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay - transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdf For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, the Company is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
