Therapist - Radiation: Radiation Oncology - Pembroke Pines, FL ---- Summary:Administers radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. -- Detailed responsibilities:--- Reviews patient history, physician's orders and radiation therapy treatment plan. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.--- Determines patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist. Delivers therapy according to treatment plan. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.--- Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.--- Positions patient and performs imaging/treatment procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging/treatment results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience: No prior work experience required.------ (RT) and certified in Radiation Therapy (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) -- -- ---- -- Organizational Profile: Memorial Hospital West opened in 1992 with 100 beds to serve the growing population of western Broward.
