Patient Care Associate: Nursing Administration - Pembroke Pines,
FLHiring for all PCA openings at South for all shifts, Full Time,
Part Time, and Staff Relief. All areas:Medical/Telemetry Clinical
Decision:--;The observation unit at Memorial Hospital Pembroke is a
54 bed hybrid, protocol driven unit; receiving patients with a
variety of disease processes (including chest pain, COPD
exacerbation, abdominal pain, TIA, etc.). It is one of only two
observation units in the entire healthcare system and the largest
observation unit by far. Patients stay on the unit for additional
medications and/or testing, for approximately 24 hours - 36 hours,
before the decision to admit to an inpatient status or discharge
home is made. We offer an education friendly learning environment
that you will get no where else in Memorial. Our nurses are some of
the sharpest and highly trained observation nurses in the state of
Florida. Working in the observation unit at Pembroke will prepare
you to work in almost any other nursing environment of your
choosing. Our nurses work closely with our physician team and have
developed some of the most progressive evidence based observation
management protocols in the United States. Come be part of the few,
the proud, the observation team!Telemetry: complex 24 bed hybrid
unit admitting both observation patients and inpatient telemetry
patients alike. This provides nurses with a wide variety of
training in a vast diversity of diagnoses: COPD/Shortness of
breath, diabetes, complex wound care, chest pain, post-operative
care and medical management of a vast array of diagnosis. We have a
dynamic veteran team with a combined experience level that does not
exist in other clinical settings. We want you to be part of our
dynamic team on 3 East as you begin your life long career as a
nurse.Progressive Care: 22 bed telemetry unit that specializes in
patients suffering from complex medical illnesses such as
congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, sepsis and patient stepping
down from ICU and IMCU. The nurses on this unit are highly
specialized in cardiac health, arrhythmia interpretation, managing
non-titratable drips and disease process. All nurses are required
to complete a comprehensive progressive care course. This allows
our team to care for patients in a very specialized setting. This
amazing team collaborates with our quality specialist to provide
evidence based practices through our program Transitioning Care at
the Bedside (TCAB) and has some of the best quality outcomes in the
entire hospital.Neuro/Telemetry: 21 bed telemetry unit that
specializes in patients suffering from an acute stroke or
experiencing neurological impairments. The nurses on this unit are
highly specialized in quick stroke identification and intervention
including nontitratable drips. We will work with you to achieve NIH
certification and so much more. This extraordinary team
collaborates with the stroke coordinator and our neurologists to
assure that each patient receives individualized care, while
adhering to the most recent evidence based practices recommended by
The American Heart Association.Med/Surg/Telemetry: 21 bed telemetry
unit that specializes in the care of the post-operative patient.
The nurses on this unit are highly specialized in the prevention of
surgical site infections, care for patients undergoing various
surgical procedures, and optimizing patients health pre and
post-surgery. The nursing team collaborates with our perioperative
teams and highly trained surgeons to provide a seamless recovery
and ease the patient into transitioning home. Our focus is pain
management, early mobility, and patient satisfaction. We have the
top performing Bariatric program in the entire healthcare system
and some of the best outcomes and patient experience scores in the
hospital!PACU: The PACU team at MHP is a small, but mighty family!
PACU nursing is a unique field, nurses in this specialty must be
able to work in high-pressure environments and knowledgeable in
treating postoperative side effects from anesthesia. Patients come
in and out of the PACU quickly, and their conditions must be
closely monitored. PACU nurses work primary during the weekday, but
emergencies happen and operating rooms must always be ready, so
on-call, evening, and weekend hours are also common. Summary:Under
the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other
related technical and clinical support activities.Detailed
responsibilities:--- Performs basic patient care activities as
delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to:
monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood
glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.--- Assists
patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily
living, including bathing, grooming, and eating--- Monitors patient
status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in
physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.---
Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and
orderly.--- Assist with transporting patients, as needed.---
