JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Cardiothoracic Surgeon • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Fort Myers, FL • Service Setting: Inpatient / Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Call • Coverage Period: 01/05/2026 – Open • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:45a – 5:00p • On-Call Shift Schedule: Intermittent weeknight call (Mon–Thu); Weekend call one weekend per month • Call Ratio: Distributed equitably across surgeons COVERAGE DATES • 01/05/2026 – Open PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included; all rounding done with an APP • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Adult cardiothoracic surgical cases; inpatient surgical management FACILITY INFORMATION • Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology, Surgery, CVICU CTS APP coverage • Support Staff Available: APPs, Surgical PAs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases • Pre?operative and postoperative rounding • Emergent weekend surgical cases as needed JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active FL license required • Board: BC/BE in Cardiothoracic Surgery • DEA: Active DEA Certification • Certifications: BLS/ACLS as applicable • Experience: Cardiothoracic surgery experience required • Other Qualifications: Ability to collaborate with APPs; Lee Health Signed Attestation, Clean NPDB report DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases • Conduct pre?operative and postoperative rounding with APP support • Cosign APP?created progress notes and consult notes; add surgeon notes as needed • Provide weekend rounding (approximately one weekend per month) • Cover emergent weekend OR cases and respond to new consults • Participate in night call rotation (Mon–Thu) as assigned • Respond to ER, CVICU, and PA?initiated calls when escalated About Adelphi Locums Adelphi Locums, a brand of Adelphi Staffing, provides locum tenens staffing solutions for healthcare facilities across the U.S., connecting them with qualified physicians, advanced practitioners, and other medical professionals for temporary coverage needs. 1681780EXPPLAT
