Overview
Responsible for planning, administering, communicating, organizing
human resources programs, policies and procedures at a professional
level. The following functional areas are included: employee
relations, training, labor relations, staffing, employee benefits,
compensation, workers compensation, and affirmative action and
employment equity programs. Requires a strong knowledge of EEOC,
ADA and Federal and State labor laws. Ensures compliance with TJC,
AHCA and DCF contract requirements and company goals and
objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in
Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or
equivalent Human Resources experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a Human Resources
Generalist capacity required, preferably in a healthcare or
behavioral health setting.
- Must possess knowledge of recruitment, hiring, retention,
benefits, compensation and training.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) certification,
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in
Human Resources (PHR) preferred.Responsibilities
- Creates and maintains records of personnel transaction such as
hires, persons served new hires, promotions, transfers,
terminations, and other employee related matters in the HRIS
system. Acts as internal HRIS expert and completes special HRIS
related projects as necessary.
- Creates and maintains Employee Personnel Files and Contractor
files active and terminated. Assures compliance with all regulatory
requirements and policies.
- Works with the Business Office on completing the on-going
payroll audits. Addresses any issues or variances.
- Manages Annual/Introductory Performance Appraisals and
Competency completion. Provides notices and tracks completion.
Works with Department Heads to assure compliance with timely
completion.
- Manages Workers Compensation (W/C) Claim reporting, employee
status and return to work, acts as liaison with WC Corporate
office. Addresses any concerns with the HR Director.
- Produces varied HR Related reports on a weekly, monthly and
quarterly basis, such as Position Control, Performance Improvement,
WC reporting, etc.
- Acts as back up to Human Resources Specialist staff. Is cross
trained and can perform HR Specialist duties as needed.
- Participates in employee relations, meets with employees,
conducts investigations, etc. Documents issues correctly and works
to resolve conflict and create a positive work environment.
- Participates in the development of departmental goals and
objectives, recommends new approaches, policies and procedures for
continued process improvement.
- Serves as HR Representative member of various hospital
committees.
- Active participant in any HR sponsored events or programs, for
example employee recognition events, HR meetings, Benefits Open
Enrollment, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
