Job Description:

Summary:

Supervises daily staff activities for cancer/tumor/oncology data personnel and functions.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assesses quality of services delivered in the Memorial Cancer Institute. Compiles data in anticipation of surveys.
  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
  • Coordinates Cancer Committee meetings/agendas and other pertinent information.

  • Certified Tumor Registrar

Other information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Work Experience: Two years supervisory experience in an ACOS/COC approved Cancer registry.
