Job Description:
Since 1957, LPI Corporation has manufactured products for jet
engines, aircraft components, and other aerospace & defense
applications. Our reputation for quality, service, and

aerospace & defense original equipment manufacturers. The Welder
uses TIG, MIG, resistance and other welding methods to weld or join
metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of
fabricated metal products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of welding processes on a variety of metals such
as stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, aluminum and copper.
Performs layout operations on welded assemblies and fixtures and
assists in developing welding fixtures. Inspects work upon
completion. May perform related work such as flame cutting,
bending, forming, beveling notching template making. Utilizes
standard shop hand tools, measuring devises and equipment. Operate
safety equipment and use safe work habits. Weld components in flat
or vertical positions. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or
bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and
positions for welding. Detect faulty operation of equipment or
defective materials and notify supervisors. Monitors the fitting,
burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or
warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material. Examines
workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance
with specifications. Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and
power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc
and gas metal arc welding equipment. Deburrs and finishes welded
areas using manual and mechanical deburring and grinding tools.
Performs other related duties as required. EDUCATION: Minimum High
School Diploma or GED Equivalent EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years
welding experience with nickel-based alloys is required. Some
Automatic welding / seam welding experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Will be expected to pass
on-the-job certifications to standardized and customer
specification. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES: Language:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills required. Mathematical Skills: Ability to use
basic shop math. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in
all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw
and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply
common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved
written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems
involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Special
Skills and Abilities: Familiar with a variety of the field's
concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and
judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of
creativity and latitude is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While
performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly
required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle
or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The Team
Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception,
and ability to adjust focus. May work with toxic or caustic
chemicals WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job,
the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts;
toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise
